Queen Street comes alive on the Opening Night of the Woollahra Festival.
From Oxford to Ocean St wander through Queen St, enjoy a glass of champagne and special offers in all the stores along Queen, from fashion to design. Walk the village triangle – Gallery openings on Oxford St, Jazz at Jozo, half price Negronis at I Maccheroni on Jersey Rd and then wander down to Susan Avery Florist and Olsen Gallery.
Take a right hand turn on Halls Lane and then you’ll be in the middle of Queen.
Don’t miss the exciting and diverse program of musical entertainment, roving musicians and intimate pop up performances during Late Night Shopping on Friday March 28, 4.30-7.00pm.
On the corner of Queen & Moncur Streets, the Crawfish Po’Boys will be bringing their own interpretation of New Orleans street beats, funk and jazz to Woollahra, led by Eamon Dilworth, one of Sydney’s foremost jazz trumpeters. Look out for them on the corner of Moncur and Queen Streets between 4.30 and 7.00pm.
Don’t miss the roving entertainment along Queen St
The beat goes on as Soul Drummer perform exciting and dynamic African drumming up and down Queen Street. They bring an energy and drive which is unmatched by any other group, so make sure you are ready – you won’t miss them on the street!
Moving onto melody, our favourite accordion player, Phillipe Witmer, will also be roaming the streets bringing a very French sound and atmosphere to La Rue de la Reine. Make sure to ask Phillipe for your favourite tune. La Vie en Rose is always a winner!
And finally, talking of the Paris end of Queen Street, near Oxford St, Boyac are hosting an pop up performance space. Come and listen to an incredible young duo for an evening of soulful acoustic folk. Make sure you drop in and unwind to some seriously good tunes.
